Correct. Not quite. An in-network provider’s bill should not be higher than the patient responsibility on the EOB. A $200 gap usually means the office has not posted the insurance payment or the network discount, or has billed an older balance on the same statement. Call the billing office, give them the EOB claim number and ask them to explain the difference. Pay the $212 only once they confirm it settles the account.
