This is the first you have heard of it. What is the right move?
Correct. Not quite. A late bill is irritating, and lateness alone does not make it wrong. Small practices and outsourced billing companies can take months to send a first statement. The test is the same as always: the date matches care you had, and the EOB shows the same provider and the same amount. Some states and some network contracts do limit how long a provider can wait, so a much older bill is worth a call to your plan.
