“There is no limit on what I might pay for prescriptions under Part D.”
True or false?
Correct!
Not quite.
This one changed recently, and many people have not heard. Since 2025, Part D has a yearly limit on what an enrollee pays out of pocket for covered drugs. It was set at $2,000 for the first year and is adjusted annually. The old “donut hole” is gone. Enrollees can also ask their plan to spread their costs across monthly payments. The cap applies only to drugs on the plan’s list.
